about

Picture a sunset. Now start crying. Now imagine that sitting next to you while you are crying and experiencing a rare moment of vulnerability, there is an escaped lunatic with a synthesizer playing the cheesiest of 80's basslines trying to create a soundtrack for your emotions.

Thats sort of what Oceans was going for here. He legitimately thinks this is "emotional" music because the synthesizers are emotional...which is like calling your toaster angry because it heats up.

What it ACTUALLY is, is 6 pieces of classic "Miami Vice" style 80's pop music songs painstakingly created (over 6 months, which is why this one costs money) using OG drum machines and analog synth sounds by Oceans and then cut into crazy, glitchy pieces.

For Scumcom, this is as close to serious pop music as we'll ever get. Which is why it sounds so fucked up.

The cover for this was created using Decim8 and Satur8, two glitch-art iPhone apps created by Movax. Get them now in the app store.
